Volunteers are the heart of our rescue. Whether you enjoy hands-on animal care, supporting daily shelter operations, or helping behind the scenes, your time and compassion directly save lives.

Shelter Volunteering

Always Needed

Our shelter relies on dedicated volunteers to help keep things clean, safe, and comfortable for our cats. These roles are critical to the health and well-being of our cats and allow our staff to focus on medical care and adoptions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting staff and fellow volunteers with daily cleaning and maintenance
  • Helping maintain a calm, welcoming environment for cats and visitors
  • Supporting general shelter operations as needed
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Dependable, compassionate, and willing to work as part of a team
  • No prior animal shelter experience required—we provide guidance and training

Foster Program

Fostering saves lives by freeing up shelter space and giving cats a safe, quiet place to heal, grow, and thrive. As a foster parent, you become a vital part of a cat’s journey to a forever home.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide food, shelter, and daily care in a loving home environment
  • Socialize, groom, and observe your foster cat
  • Administer medications if needed (training provided)
  • Transport your foster cat to the shelter/vet when required
✅ Foster Qualifications
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Provide a safe, stable, and loving home
  • Have patience and compassion
  • Be willing to care for cats with minor medical or behavioral needs

While fostering is incredibly rewarding, it can also be emotionally challenging. We ask foster parents to understand that not every animal will recover, and Angels With Paws staff are always here to support you.
