Serina is a very pretty, and tiny (she's the size of a 5 month old kitten) short-haired brown tabby 2 yrs old. She tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia), but many cats with FeLV can live long lives with a calm environment and good care. She is a tiny bit shy, due to the isolation necessary in the shelter environment, but she is very sweet and enjoys being petted and played with. She gets along great with her other FeLV roommates and can only be other cats who are FeLV positive. As dogs are immune, perhaps she would get along with a cat-friendly dog as long as it is calm and she can avoid stress. Chester is a very handsome 3 and 1/2 yr old adult male short-haired white with orange tabby mask and markings.  We rescued him from a shelter where he was going to be put down due to lack of space.  We are so glad we saved him because he has so much personality and is extremely sweet, friendly and playful.  Upon initial examinatin it was discovered that he had a broken pelvis that was not mentionedin any of his previous records.  Due to this, he is special needs.  He has some mild paralysis in his pelvis and tail and a small amount of nerve damage to his anal sphincter so he sometimes needs help with emptying his bowels.  He usually does well on his own, but needs some help every few days, which he tolerates very well.  He has been improving with time and we hope that continues to heal even more.   He does great with his ever changing feline roommates.  He is so sweet and relaxed, he would probably adjust fine to a cat-friendly dog.  He does fine with children, but needs to avoid younger children who might try to pick him up which would not be good for him.  He is one of the cats we've had the longest and he really needs a home.  Come meet our special boy.

Smokey is a very pretty short-haired dilute torti girl with lovely and unusual light colored markings. She is two years old. She is shy, but once she trusts you she is very sweet and enjoys being petted. She gets along great with her roommates one of whome is also her son (Sunshine - DSH orange tabby). Jedi is a very handsome big, 4 year old short-haired black male.    He has Diabetes which is well controlled with insulin shots which he tolerates very well.  He also is FIV+ which means that he can only be with either other FIV positive cats.

Tamara is a very pretty black/brown short-haired tabby who is 5 years old.    She has an autoimmune condition that is under control, but makes her a little more delicate than some other cats might be.   Therefore, the less stress the better, so we recommend no young or noisy children (she can give love bites as well so another good reason for no young children), no dogs and she does not like other cats at all.

She is very sweet and is in need of a good home where she can run around the house and get out of the cage she's been in for way too long.

ChungWang is a handsome 1 yr old, short-haired White with Black boy. He is very shy and fearful and it will take a long time for him to trust you. He enjoys being petted once he trusts you, when he is receptive to attention. He also enjoys playing once he trusts you and can relax enough around you to play. He and his brothers and sisters lived in the streets for a while and had to fend for themselves. They've also apparantely been traumatized by humans, so he needs some extra TLC. He gets along with and craves the companionship of docile other cats, esp. Taurus and Tempest who are not related, but look like they could be. He will need a lot of love, patience and time, but he is coming around to trust humans again.

Taurus is a very handsome large 5 yr old DSH White with Black Mask and Saddle male.  He is a tinsy bit shy (more likely from depression from losing him home).  He comes around quickly with love and attention.  He is very sweet and really enjoys being petted.  He lets out the cutest little baby meow to let you know he wants more.  He also loves to play.  He gets along great with his feline roommates, especially his 'sister' Tempest, a 4 yr old female DSH who looks alot like him.  They need to stay together.  They had cat-friendly dogs and children in their former home.

Corona is a very pretty short-haired senior 10 yr old adult Tortishell female.  She is very sweet and enjoys being petted, but will let you know when she's had enough.  She even enjoys the occassion play session.  She came to us from a person who had good intentions, but too many cats and Corona ended up with some pretty bad dental issues.  She is still recovering from this so her eating needs to be monitored a bit.  She has the cutest Torti trait of picking up her food with her paw to eat it.  She does not care for other cats at all.  Since they stress her out too much, she needs to be the only cat.  She would not do well with children or dogs.  Come meet this sweet and pretty lady to see if you can give her the safe, comfortable life she deserves in her golden years.

Max is a very handsome, sleek, jet black boy. He is pretty cautious of people and is pretty shy, but enjoys being petted once he trusts you.   He startles easily, which is probably due to mistreatment from people before he was abanonded on the street in the cold of winter a couple of years ago. He needs a home where he will get lots of one on one time, companionship of other, docile cats, and that will be patient and gentle with him.  He gets along great with every cat that has passed through the room he lives in (including many that don't really care for other cats) and really requires the companionship of other docile cats.   He is so relaxed with other animals, he might do well with calm, cat-friendly dogs.  He would do best in a home without young children that is calm without too much stress.  Come meet this handsome young man.   Applicants may be asked for a home inspection.

Coco is a very handsome, sleek, jet black (with a few white chest hairs) 1 yr old. He can be a little bit shy, but is very sweet and enjoys attention once he gets to know you a little.  This is amazing as he and his brother, Spunkin who was adopted without CoCo were extremely shy and fearful and a foster helped them learn to trust people again.  This was probably due to mistreatment from people as they had been abandoned as kittens and were living on the streets.  He needs a calm, safe home where he can continue to blossom into the wonderful companion he is.  He gets along great with other gentle cats.  He would do best in a home without young children that is calm without too much stress.  Come meet this handsome young man.

Polo is a very handsome short-haired orange tabby boy who is 5 years old. He is shy off the bat, but is very sweet and friendly once he trusts you, which usually does not take too long. Jordon is a very handsome short-haired orange tabby boy who is 5 years old. He is bit shy as he adusts to his new life at the shelter, but he is very sweet and enjoys attention once you gain his trust. He is listed as Special Needs because he suffers from some low back pain caused by a birth defect of 2 elongated lumbar vertibrae near the base of his spine and some possible neurological damage that makes him very sensative in his spine and a little wobbly at times.  He doesn't require any special care outside of being kept from lots of stairs and jumping off of tall furniture (upholstered pet steps would be helpful for him to get up and down).  He gets along great with his roommates and his twin brother, Polo is also at the shelter, but not in the same room right now.  He should not be around children, unless they are older and calm.  We don't know about dogs, but definately no dogs that would rough house with him.  Come meet this handsome young man to see if you have the safety, time and patience he needs to become the cat he wants to be.

Casper is a healthy 6 year old DSH Black female.  It took her a couple of weeks after coming into foster care to come out from hiding- so, yes, she is a bit shy.  But, once she realized that all was good (safe) she came out and has accepted all the loving and petting that she has been needing. CoCo (aka Kokopeli) is an extraordinary boy DSH mitted Orange Tabby with White Tux markings male.  He is about 8 years old, but still very, very playful.  He likes strings, balls, you name it..  Mostly though he is a lover boy- you can see it in his eyes.  He is quite grateful when you are there and petting him.  He's big and quite handsome.  He came to AWP, along with Mister and Casper (Miss) after their owner, an elderly woman, passed away.   I think that KoKo is quite adaptable and would be happy just to be in a loving environment.  He was loved and deserves to be loved for the rest of his days.  He will certainly return that many times over.  CoCo is currently in foster care, please call the shelter at (303) 274-2264 to make arrangements to meet this sweet and handsome boy.

Iggy is a gorgeous young, 1 yr old Chocolate Point Siamese female.  She is a little bit shy and fearful as she adjusts to her new life at the shelter.  She can be a bit unpredictible right now as she is learning to trust people, but she seems to want attention and she loves to play.    We don't know how she gets along with other cats, but she would probably do best as the only cat.  We don't know about dogs either, but given her fearfulness, it is probably not a good idea.  She should not be around young children eihter.  She needs a calm, patient, loving home to heal her past.  Come meet this gorgeous little young lady.

Magdalene is a very pretty, little 2 yr old Long-haired dilute tortishell female. She is a tinsy bit shy off the bat, but warms up quickly and is very sweet and loves attention. She also loves to play. She recently had kittens so it may be her horomones calming down, but so far she does not seem to care for other cats. We don't know about dogs. Shadrach is a handsome 3 month old DSH Brown Tabby boy kitten.  He is very friendly, sweet and enjoys attention and to play.  He gets along great with his feline roommates, esp. his sister, Meeshak who looks a lot like him. It would be great if they could stay together, but not required.  We don't know about dogs, but perhaps cat-friendly dogs with proper introduction techinques might be O.K.  He can only be with children over the age of 6 per Angels with Paws Policies.  Come meet this handsome boy kitty.
